District 10 is an infill development located on a small narrow irregular shaped lot in North Salem where a derelict automotive repair structure has deteriorated.
The development of this site will replace this structure with a new 4 story building mixed use building. The ground floor of the building will establish a Neighborhood Market with the remainder of the building will provide 22 residential apartments with mix of studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units.
Conceptually, the buildings exterior design based on taking the established economical residential apartment building and allowing its mass to be shaped by the narrow tapering site constraints. The facade of this tapered mass is then influenced by the expression of the pattern of residential units within the building resulting in the dynamic movement along the street facade.
